2009 Poster Unveiled
29/10/2008
Christie Anthoney, Fringe Director said, “When I first saw David's illustration it struck me as a strong, simple and strikingly beautiful image. It says heaps about the Adelaide Fringe which gives everyone the opportunity to release the artist within. The Fringe makes it possible for anyone’s artistic voices to be shouted LOUD and David's image captures this in a compelling way.” Check out the poster here!

Adelaide Fringe Poster Competition attracts hundreds of high quality entries from artists, designers, students and amateurs alike. The winner will enjoy an exotic overseas holiday and fantastic exposure as their design promotes the largest arts festival in Australia.

David Blaiklock was delighted that his illustration was chosen, “I have been entering the Fringe poster competition as long as I can remember and it’s fantastic to win. I am really looking forward to the design spreading across the city and the Fringe getting underway!”

With the posters about to hit the streets Fringe-goers are going to be able to plan their Fringe time a little earlier this year. A brand new innovation from the Fringe team means that Fringe Vouchers of varying denominations can be bought from today at www.adelaidefringe.com.au

“We are really going gangbusters at Fringe HQ, we have also got lots of exiting new experiences for Fringe-goers to enjoy and we can’t wait to build on the success of last year’s Fringe,” said Christie.

975,000 people attended performances and events at the 2008 Adelaide Fringe held earlier this year, spending $36.5 million in South Australia representing a $15.5 million increase on 2007’s figures.

Minister assisting the Premier in the Arts John Hill said, "The launch of the Fringe poster is always the beginning of a great event. This year's poster spruiks the excitement of the Fringe in hot pink and wild orange. Everyone will want to be in Adelaide for the Fringe in 2009."
