Bulldozers, Frog Cakes and Fringe artists
24/02/2008
Just before the bulldozers polish off what’s left of the historic Balfours Factory, the Fringe is hosting tasty spread of piping hot spectacles to feed Adelaide’s hungry audiences.

Alongside the massive industrial ovens sits the Pastry Bakery Theatre (120 seats) where you can see, Domestic Bliss, Follow Me, Hot Pink Bits Rides Again, Gifted and Talented and The Knowing of Mary Poppins.

If you are feeling like chilling out get into the Fridge Theatre (30 seats) where you can enjoy, A Record or an OBE, Amelia Jane Hunter is Keith Flipp/ Meat- the Musical, Around the World on 80 Quid, Librarian Idol and Trevor Crook - Bone Idol

The Crumpet Theatre (60 seats) will host Trouble on Planet Earth, a ‘choose your own adventure’ show where the audience controls the show. The Jelly Belly Theatre (6 seats) is where you can see The Smile off your Face - well you don’t actually ‘see it’ as the entire audience is blindfolded for most of the show.

Drop by the Tea Room Theatre (60 seats) and grab a ticket for, American Poodle, a slip of a boy, Daylight Savings for the Doomsday Clock, Goering's Defence and Persephone's Wolf. There won’t be any tea or cakes but there will be lots of tasty theatre!

If you think Footy Pies or Frog Cakes are visually appealing then think again! There will be a delightful selection of visual art on display at Factory Theatre galleries.

Over 120 pieces have been submitted for the miniART (affordable 30x40x30cm art) exhibition.  upstART will move into the gallery after the the miniART auction (Monday 3 March) and the emerging visual artists will use space to display their work.

Don’t Be Afraid, a visual art installation using light, vinyl, foils and ribbons will be on display throughout the Fringe. Mixedinblack, an exhibition of local Aboriginal artists will also be on permanent display along with top 20 entries from last years Fringe poster competition.
