Record breaking advance ticket sales
18/02/2008

On Monday the 18 February it was confirmed that Adelaide Fringe 2008 has eclipsed all previous year’s advance ticket sales.

Sandy Verschoor, Fringe CEO says, ‘advance ticket sales are 27% up on 2007 and at a record high compared with all previous Fringe festival advance sales, at five days before Fringe opening night. We still have a way to go before we reach our targets, but this is an incredibly pleasing start to the festival season.’

Christie Anthoney, Fringe Director says, ‘this is a tremendous result! The huge Fringe program is clearly resonating with Adelaide audiences who are buying up seats with gusto. We hope that all shows get good numbers and that artists and audiences have a mind blowing experience this Fringe.’

Christie was clear to point out that tickets for most shows are still available, and even hot favourites have some seats left. To avoid disappointment, planning a live experience this Fringe should start now - if it hasn’t already.

33 shows at the 2008 Fringe are free to attend including the massive Opening Night Party Friday 22 February where 40,000 revelers will celebrate the start of the festival from 6pm - 2:30am.

The average price of Fringe tickets is between $20 - $25, discounts are available for concession card holders, people aged 18-30, and BankSA customers.
