Fringe Parade 2009

How can you be part of the Fringe Parade? Simple! Click on a volunteer role below that interests you!

Attracting crowds of more than 100,000, the Fringe Parade will return after a two-year break to mark the opening of the Adelaide Fringe on Friday 27 February, 2009.

We are especially looking for performance groups that are keen to show their talents.

Team with the Theme – your group or organisation can register a foot float/parade element with the Parade Director. Your team works independently on your Fringe creation and you supply your own materials, tools, skills, time and transportation of the creation to and from the parade marshalling areas.

Parade Handler - Carry a Fringe prop or help maneuver foot floats along the parade route. Average physical stamina will be required as volunteers will be  walking a minimum 1km pulling / pushing / carrying parade elements.

Parade Route Marshals – Oversee the pace of the parade at key locations along the parade route. Requirements: good listening skills and be able to follow instructions and be organised and focused. You may be asked to attend a meeting prior to the parade day, and appear early in the marshalling area on Parade Day for any additional instructions.
