Youth Engagement Program (YEP)
Is your work suitable for school group audiences?
Are you prepared to offer a Schools’ Booking price?
If so, read on…
If you believe your work is suitable for younger audiences, register your interest in participating in the Youth Engagement Program (YEP).
You will be asked to offer a Schools’ Booking ticket price for school groups. Schools will be invoiced by Adelaide Fringe rather than processed through the FringeTix system.
A Schools Booking Officer will be appointed to act as liaison between Fringe artists and school groups. They may contact you to ask whether you are able to present extra performances outside your regular sessions to fit in with school schedules (e.g. daytime shows); otherwise, they will be encouraging school groups to purchase tickets to your regular sessions at the schools’ price.
How can I express my interest in YEP?
Simple! Just tick the YEP box in the Fringe Event Opportunities section of FERS.
The Schools Booking Officer will be in touch after registrations have closed to gather further information about your event/show/performance. If you have any questions in the meantime, email yep@adelaidefringe.com.au.
What is YEP all about?
YEP has been part of the Adelaide Fringe for over 30 years. Originally known as the Youth & Education Program, it was first designed to involve young people in the Fringe as audience members and develop future arts appreciators. Over the years it has expanded to include both in-schools, in-theatre events and workshops for young people and educators. It has taken youth-oriented programming to all corners of South Australia and sourced performances from all corners of the globe.
Rather than creating a separate semi-curated program, in 2009 we are inviting any and all Fringe artists who believe their work is suitable for younger audiences to register their interest in participating in the Youth Engagement Program.
