Who can be a Fringe Venue?

Due to the variety of artists that register to take part in the Fringe an immense array of venues are needed in order to meet artist's individual requirements.

In 2008, over 250 venues opened their doors to Fringe performing and visual artists. These venues ranged from the 2000 seat Thebarton Theatre to the corners and function rooms of pubs, clubs, council buildings, outdoor venues, churches, cinema’s and even a city manhole!

2009 Fringe Venues List

Every Fringe we provide registered artists with the Fringe Venues List. The venues list includes technical details and contact details for your venue which are then passed onto artists. The Fringe does not organise venues for artists- artists need to organise their own venue.

Once Fringe artists contact you, it’s up to you to book in the performances or exhibitions you want in your venue. We recommend all confirmed bookings with artists are formalised through a written venue hire agreement.

However you are not alone; the Fringe has staff on board with information and resources to assist you in the lead up to and during the Fringe.
