Opening Night

ONE NIGHT, ONE MASSIVE PARTY
Friday 15 February

Fringe Parade

King William Street
Pre-Parade entertainment from 7.00pm
Parade starts at 8.30pm

As the sun goes down, the streets will light up and the entire city will explode with an all-night celebration of everything Fringe.  At the centre of the party will be the iconic Fringe Parade. Join the crowds to welcome the spectacle of brilliant floats and thousands of Fringe artists as they ‘strut their stuff’ through the centre of the city. King William St. will be truly transformed into the world’s largest dance floor as DJ TR!P cranks up the volume. Check out the list of floats and performers here.

The Parade is starting at 8.30pm this year but get there early to enjoy the pre parade entertainment from 7.00pm. In the tradition of the Christmas Pageant please stay behind the blue line. Viewing is from both sides of King William St. This year the Parade will be lit from the inside out so get into the party atmosphere and light yourself up!

    • Parking – please refer to the Upark map for great places to park on Parade night.

For the first time ever the 2013 Fringe Parade will be audio described and broadcast live on Radio Adelaide for Blind and vision impaired people. Bring your transistor radio and headsets and tune into Radio Adelaide 101.5 fm to catch all the details and splendour of the 1000s of artists performing in the centre of the city. Audio description makes the visual verbal and is proudly supported by Access2Arts.

Access2Arts will have some radios and headsets available on the night but bookings are essential. For bookings email audio.describer@access2arts.org.au or phone 0498 707 563. Radios will be available for collection at the viewing area – Rundle Mall Tram Stop from 7:30pm with a $10 refundable deposit required on the night.
