Celebrate Across the City
The opening night itinerary offers an experience unique to Adelaide Fringe as 21 venues host special events simultaneously across the city.
Choose from pop-up venues, favourite haunts and hot new bars. Be entertained with funk and soul, cabaret, indy beats and edible exotics.
1. Adelaide Town Hall
128 King William St, Adelaide
After the Fringe Parade wander in to enjoy the coming to life of the Gargoyle of Town Hall Balcony.
2. Arcade Lane
Between Regent & Adelaide Arcade, Grenfell St, Adelaide
Undeniably the hottest venue of the 2010 & 2011 Fringe! Arcade Lane will pop up again in 2012 with The Transatlantics, DJs Henri & Madcap plus roving performers on for Fringe Opening Night.
3. Art Gallery of South Australia
North Tce, Adelaide
Be among the first in Australia to the brave new work AES+F Allegoria Sacra at a spectacular free outdoor event at the Art Gallery of South Australia from 9.30pm.
4. Crown & Sceptre
308 King William St, Adelaide
Enjoy original funk and soul grooves from Adelaide’s most talented live outfits alongside our dextrous resident DJs Medhi & Stephen King playing the best in boogie and beats.
5. Dragonfly Bar & Dining
193 Victoria Square, Adelaide
On Fringe opening night Dragonfly is will create a carnivale on the lovely outdoor piazza area of Victoria Square with an outdoor bar and roving fringe performers.
6. Fowler’s Live
68 North Tce, Adelaide
Fowler’s Live Courtyard will feature Indy beats with edible exotics and licensed beverages till late.
7. Gluttony
Cnr East Tce & Rundle Rd, Adelaide
The Gluttony Disco will be pumping. It’s a party in your headphones until the wee hours with three channels of music and DJs Ryley, Dylan Sanders, Leah Mencel and Corin.
8. Hotel Richmond
128 Rundle Mall, Adelaide
On your way to the East, come up to First bar to start your night off with a cocktail or two, overlooking the hustle and bustle of Rundle Mall with some cool tunes and unexpected guests.
9. La Boheme
36 Grote St, Adelaide
Adelaide’s answer to Paris nightlife throws open its doors and invites you to enjoy cocktails at the bar, relax in the sensuous Speakeasy Room upstairs or groove away with Adelaide’s finest DJs in La Ruelle (the Alley) at the rear.
10. Nexus Cabaret & Gallery
Lion Arts Centre, Cnr Morphett St & North Tce, Adelaide
After the Parade, the party will then move to The Coopers Urban Garden Experiment where there will be a range of drink specials on offer to enjoy in the serene surrounds of the garden bar.
11. Queen’s Theatre
Cnr Gilles Arcade & Playhouse Ln, Adelaide

12. Saldechin

Immediately after the parade finishes, check out the Laneway Stage on Gresham Place, next to Saldechin. Special guests performances by Janice Joplin, The Blues Brothers and the Rat Pack.

After the Fringe Parade head west and join the Shimmering West celebrations with free BBQ, thirst quenching drink specials and a ‘Late Night Lounge’ featuring Charles Sanders, Catherine Campbell and some very special extra excellent guests!
