Volunteers

Does the Fringe need volunteers?

What a question! Does a telephone ring? Do files need filing? Do extra hands need to magically appear from nowhere? Yes, yes and yes! The Fringe simply couldn’t survive without the many volunteers who work tirelessly to help us put on this amazing event. In return for their efforts, our volunteers gain invaluable experience working with some of the finest arts workers across all areas of this world-renowned event.

In 2003 the Adelaide Fringe won both the State Award and the People’s Choice Award in the Art and Culture category of the National Volunteer Awards. This was recognition for the dedication to over 350 Fringe volunteers and the enthusiasm and energy they put in to produce one of the best festival events in the world. Fringe volunteers also went above and beyond the call of duty in 2004, 2006 and at the first annual Fringe in 2007.

To register your interest as a Fringe volunteer, simply download the Adelaide Fringe Volunteer Registration Form, complete it, and return it to the Fringe office. You are welcome to include a short resume which will assist us in finding you the best volunteer task possible.

Closer to the Fringe we will be holding an information session which will outline all the available volunteer opportunities for the event. It will give interested volunteers a chance to meet the Fringe coordinators, find out about the various departments and projects, and learn what the Fringe is looking for from volunteers. Details of the information session will be posted on this website, and will be emailed out to everyone who has registered to be a Fringe volunteer, to the email address entered on their registration form.

Download the Volunteer Registration Form.
