Liquor Licensing
Cheers, big ears! Thinking of having a shindig for your opening night?
Artists who are planning on selling or supplying alcohol may be required to obtain a liquor licence under the Liquor Licensing Act 1997. If you are intending on holding your opening night in an area that is normally considered a dry zone (no alcohol consumption allowed), then you will need to obtain approval for a limited licence. Consent from the local council will also be required in these circumstances.
For more information on limited liquor licences and to download application forms visit the Office of the Liquor & Gambling Commissioner website.
The Office of the Liquor & Gambling Commissioner advises that limited liquor licence applications must be lodged at least 14 days prior to the function being held. With the number of celebrations taking place around Fringe time we recommend that you allow more time than this to avoid any disappointment.
