Hospital Hilarity with Paul McDermott at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital
Today, Thursday 7 March at 1.30pm Paul McDermott will bring a touch of Fringe fun to children at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital as part of Adelaide Fringe’s Hospital Hilarity program.
For those too sick to make it out to see a show, Adelaide Fringe will bring it to them, in what is a 7 year tradition and a highlight for Fringe staff.
Adelaide Fringe Director Greg Clarke said the program is a great occasion for all participating in the day, from the kids and parents to the hospital staff and artists.
“If we can brighten up the days of even a few of the kids at the Women’s and Children’s then we’ve done our job well, and really that’s what the Fringe is all about, getting everyone having a good time” said Mr Clarke.
Joining Paul in the day’s fun will be regular Hospital Hilarity performers, On the Fly who will bring their comedic pirates to give the children an education in Piratedom and to gather new recruits. Argh!
Women’s and Children’s Health Network Chief Executive Officer Gail Mondy said: “Providing entertainment that helps make time in hospital a little easier to deal with is an important aspect of the care we provide at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Each year, the Hospital Hilarity program plays a vital role in bringing laughter, fun and cheer to our wards.”
“We’re really excited to have inaugural Fringe Ambassador Paul McDermott joining On the Fly to perform this year, which means both the little kids as well as the older ones will be entertained,” said Ms Mondy.
