BankSA Pick of the Fringe Award
The BankSA Pick of the Fringe Award is presented to the Fringe “experience” which best demonstrates overall excellence. It could be an individual/company, venue, concept, show, marketing campaign – there are no boundaries! The award is chosen by BankSA and the Fringe Director.
The award winner will receive a statuette and $2,000 generously donated by BankSA.
BankSA Talkfringe Award
The BankSA TalkFringe Award is presented to the show which receives the highest number of public votes online on the BankSA TalkFringe Website.
The award winner will receive a statuette and $500 generously donated by BankSA.
Best Presentation for Children
To recognise excellence among the vast number of family shows which register with Adelaide Fringe, we’ve introduced an award to celebrate – Best Presentation for Children. The award will be given to an outstanding presentation suitable for children aged 12 and under.
The award winner will receive a statuette and $500 generously donated by BankSA.
Adelaide Festival Centre inSPACE:development Award
This award is designed to offer a local artist/collective the use of a rehearsal space, either to support the creative development of a new work, and/or polishing and refining an existing work to a performance outcome. The eligible artists must be presenting work in Adelaide Fringe 2012 in one of the following categories: Cabaret, Circus & Physical Theatre, Dance, Music, Puppetry, Theatre or theatrical comedy. They must be independent and not represented by a commercial producer. In selecting the award recipient, judges will consider suitability for the spaces within Adelaide Festival Centre and alignment with the creative direction of Adelaide Festival Centre.
The award winner will receive a statuette and three weeks use of Rehearsal Room 2 in the Adelaide Festival Centre complex. At the end of the rehearsal period they will present a series of showings which will be included as part of the inSPACE:development program in the Adelaide Festival Centre 2013 Brochure. This award is also made possible by Osmonds Electronics.
Eran Svigos Award for Best Visual Art
In memory of Eran Svigos, an extraordinary creative force, the Eran Svigos Award acknowledges the most outstanding Visual Arts Exhibition at Adelaide Fringe. A Bachelor of Visual Arts graduate, Eran co-founded Brompton Palace Art School and designed the costumes and street decorations for the Adelaide Fringe opening parade as well as being an exhibiting artist at a number of Adelaide Fringe festivals. Eran also co-founded the internationally successful jewellery company Palas whilst she concurrently served on the South Australian Youth Arts Board.
The award winner will receive a statuette and $2000 donated by the Svigos & Dimond families.
John Chataway Innovation Award
In memory of John Chataway, Deputy Chairperson on the Adelaide Fringe Board who sadly passed away in October 2010, this award is presented to the show which best demonstrates innovation, originality and excellence within its artform or in the arts in general. John was an accomplished director with over 20 years experience in film and video production and specialised in creative strategies combining digital technologies through a broad range of communication channels.
The award winner will receive a statuette and $2000 donated by Adelaide Fringe.
Tour Ready Award – Supported by Melbourne Fringe
The Tour Ready Award is a fantastic opportunity for a South Australian based artist or company to take their work to the 2012 Melbourne Fringe Festival. The award recognises excellence in a live performance by a South Australian artist or group of artists. It acknowledges the success of the current production and it’s suitability for an interstate tour and rewards the hard work, resourcefulness and creativity of those involved in the production.
The award winner will receive presentation assistance to the value of $2000 and free registration for Melbourne Fringe 2012 (valued at $330).
The Peace Trust Award
The Peace Trust Award is open to all Fringe artists who promote human rights, social justice and environmental sustainability through their work. The Peace Trust has been a long supporter of working for peace through the arts by providing seed funding and arts grants for projects. By being part of the Adelaide Fringe Awards, The Peace Trust aims to support artists whose work aligns with the objectives of The Peace Trust and at the same time further their commitment to experimentation, excellence and innovation in the arts.

Underbelly Edinburgh Award
Underbelly is one of the largest and most respected venue managers and producers at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and they are looking for the best of Adelaide Fringe to join them in 2012.
The winner of the Underbelly Edinburgh Award will be produced by Underbelly at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe with production costs covered up to £7,000. Eligible productions must not have been performed in the United Kingdom and can be from any country except the United Kingdom.

Winners will be announced at the Adelaide Fringe Awards on Sunday 18 March 2012 and will be posted here on Monday 19 March 2012.
