Look out boys, Venezuela’s answer to Antonio Banderas is coming through! Very funny comedy. Ivan is sophisticated and an excellent observer of Australia and Australians. We laughed for 50 mins. How good it is to see a professional in full flight. Would I recommend Ivan’s comedy to my friends and colleagues? I already have.

I’ve just noted that I am marked as giving Ivan a score of 1 – but I wasn’t asked to give a score, if I had been asked a 10 out of 10 would be my answer.

Great show. Accurately funny and very well delivered. Also, great to hear a perspective of all things Australian from a relatively new Australian. Great value for money.

Funny funny funny show. I don’t know who had more fun – us, the audience, or Ivan (I can call him Ivan now coz we’re all friends). Clever and fresh observational humour delivered with love – not someone outside having a dig (take note Eastern state comedians). Best show I’ve seen at the Fringe this year

Lucky enough to win myself a free ticket for ‘tight-arse’ Tuesday to see Ivan Aristeguieta’s comedy show. Now, AC/DC is definitely NOT my thing but Back in Black never sounded so good or looked so sexy!! Vegemite, tomato sauce, singing and willy dancing.. Seriously! This show has got it all! I’d give it 5 stars. Laughed till I cried.

How wonderful was spend a Saturday evening enjoying his show, you can feel the good work he’s doing translating our “latino” passion into English, and it’s impressive (and grateful) to see locals laughing as me with jocks made with our particular sense of humour, creating an accurate portrait of Australian and Latin idiosyncrasy. He made feels everyone welcome, no matters which nationality are you, and that’s really clever. I recommend a 100% this show to all the English speaking audience!, y que Viva Venezuela, caracha!, te auguro muchos exitos, pana. Te aseguro que la comunidad venezolana y en nuestro pais estan muy orgullosos de tu trabajo ;)

This show is hilarious and so fresh, very different of what I’ve seen before. I highly recommend this comedy to everybody. While Latin Americans will relate by personal experience with the different situations ingeniously presented by Ivan, Aussies will have a great time laughing while we have the opportunity to see our culture from a different point of view. My hubby and I didn’t stop laughing out loud for 50 minutes!! Nicely done Ivan, keep them coming!!

Ivan Aristeguieta is a welcome breath of fresh air on Australia’s somewhat cloistered stand-up comedy scene.

This Latino comedian, with just a few years on Aussie soil, has avoided the temptation to pander to the cheap stereotypes that dominate the horribly staid “ethnic” comedy scene to deliver an hour of stand-up that is simultaneously charming and surprisingly wry.

His Seinfeld-esque observations on Australian life are equally iconoclastic and reverential, and in his own way, Aristeguieta has captured Australia’s sacrosanct affinity for the utterly mundane – devouring subjects like the greatness of vegemite, sausage rolls and tomato sauce with the zeal of a hungry brickie at smoko.

In what could have easily been an hour of Scarface impressions, the difference between “Sheilas and Latinas” or stereotypes about Latin lotharios, Aristeguieta instead delivers a brilliantly realised assessment of Australia through the eyes of a Venezuelan love-struck by his new home.
    A must see this Fringe.

Whether or not you know the difference between Hola and Hallo, Lost in Pronunciation is the type of stand-up comedy that will have you ROFLYAO from start to finish with its fresh content. Cheerfully delivered by a spicy Latin American with a seemingly unpronounceable surname, the show takes you through the stages culture shock as he tries to become acclimated with what it’s like, as a foreigner, to become Australian. From typical foods, customs, language expressions and mannerisms, to scarily accurate impressions of Marlon Brando and AC/DC with a Latin twist, “Lost in Pronunciation” by award-winning Ivan Aristeguieta is a must-see show guaranteed to win your thumbs up.

Ivan was more than laugh-out-loud funny. He was laugh-about-it-later funny. We were taken on a journey of life in Australia (and through parts of Venezuela, too), from the perspective of a seasoned ex-pat. Everything from food to politics, environment to language was covered. Well constructed, self-referential stand-up… this guy is absolutely, definitely worth seeing.

Hilarious!!! I went to the show with my husband and my 10 years old son and we LOL from beginning to end. Highly recommended. We still laugh at some jokes at home as we remember them. Thanks to Ivan, Tomato sauce will never mean the same to this family from now on. Brilliant! 5 stars

The very best show I have seen this year. Clever observational comedy of all things ‘stralian from an amazingly talented guy. Smart and witty , engaging and original… with only 2 days to go “do yourselves a favour!”… oh yeah and pass the tomato sauce.
