AN ALL-SWINGING UKULELE KABARET with Savior Plunk!
Meet SAVOIR PLUNK, the surprise hit quintet of the 2016 Cairns Ukulele Festival! Gigs are packed with the sounds of swing, jazz and blues, BritPop, and now! Take a musical ukulele journey from a smoke filled Paris Café to Brazil, detouring to the Las Vegas heat at The Sands, then to glittery Broadway, New York, before hitting the incredible Melbourne & savvy Adelaide! Savoir Plunk features vocal harmonies, drum/cajon, the ukulele range (incl. bass, banjolele, 8 string, resonator), and a multi-instrumentalist teasing a diverse range of percussion (melodica, xylophone, vibraslap etc). Savoir Plunk is a band (not a uke group) covering genres from the 60s beyond. This is Ukulele for Grown Ups!
Ably supported by SHORT & SWEET (SAS), a trio of ukulele ladies singing luscious harmonies and pop tunes from the 60's & 70's, see them all in the Regent Room at the KENSI HOTEL: SUN. Feb 26, SUN Mar 12, SUN Mar 19 @ 2.30pm TICKETS $20. CONC/Kids $15
