Penny Greenhalgh is an award winning comedian, writer, actor and director, best known for her work as an actor on The Checkout (ABC1). In 2016 Penny has appeared on many high-profile comedy galas, including Melbourne Comedy Festival's Big Laugh Out, Splendour in the Grass, and the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase, while also touring her latest solo comedy show, Piranha Banana Llamarama.
Penny’s debut solo show, Pop Pop, won the Best Emerging Artist Award at the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2015 and toured to sold-out crowds at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival of that year. She was listed among the Sydney Morning Herald’s must-see up-and-coming comedians of 2015. She is currently working as a comedy writer on a new TV series from Ambience Entertainment and training as a live TV studio director.
In 2013 Penny attended the prestigious theatre school, École Philippe Gaulier, in Paris.
