For all thirty-one nights of the 2018 Adelaide Fringe, North Terrace will be transformed into a Parade of Light – an animated corridor of colour, light and wonder!
The Parade of Light will feature architectural projections and breathtaking laser displays from illuminart, Electric Canvas and Happy City Lab, which will create an interactive passageway between the East End and Riverbank precincts of Adelaide.
Plus stick around and enjoy the Parade of Light Night Markets with food, market stalls and spotlight performances by Fringe artists and street performers!

Tangkuinyendi Yabarra brings to life Yellaka; old wisdom through new ways. Intricately interwoven within the illuminated architectural projections, witness the cultural and spiritual renewal practises from Kaurna family clan customs as they bring living culture to the forefront along Adelaide's cultural boulevard.

The Elder Hall facade will be filled with animated light and music, as the playful, bold and curious take their turn to control the building and become virtuosos of light and sound. Be bold and play alone, or pull in a friend to help you light up the night with a sonic, phonic, chronic luminous duet.

Mitchell Building, University of Adelaide
Based on fabulous circus posters and photographs from the National Fairground Archive, The Electric Canvas transforms the Mitchell Building into an amazing moving billboard. In addition, marking the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in S.A., the show celebrates the accomplishments of Adelaide born suffrage pioneer, Muriel Matters.

How would a balloon dog survive in the real world? What kind of job would he be successful at? This is the light-hearted story of a balloon dog who tries different occupations, all of which just don’t turn out to be suitable for a balloon. From chefs’ knives to seamstress’ pins and needles, there are so many risks! Finally, balloon dog finds the perfect job - King Balloon Dog - or not.

When the Library closes for the day and the lights go out, the State Library Forecourt comes alive with fascinating stories, characters, history and hidden gems projecting onto the exterior wall of the Institute Building. And the Story Wall offers a whole new level of experience for visitors, enabling visitors to choose from over 40 stories via the interactive pod.
Switching on of the Parade of Light
The Parade of Light will be officially switched on following the Kaurna sunset ceremony, Tindo Utpurndee, as part of the official Opening Night celebrations of the 2018 Adelaide Fringe.
