On Friday 12 February 2016, the entire city will explode with an all-night celebration of everything Fringe. At the centre of the party will be the iconic Fringe Parade, back on King William Street with a dizzying spectacle of colour and vibrant energy.
The Fringe Parade is all about celebrating what is the heart of the Fringe, you the artists! We encourage all artists to use the parade to showcase their talents and promote their shows.
On the completion of the Parade all participants are invited to the Fringe Club in Rymill Park to continue the party.
Please note that whilst there will be copious amounts of dancing and celebrating there will also be awards for best dressed in the parade. All Fringe registered artists and venues will be in the running to win either the Best Costume prize of $1,000 or the Best Float prize of $1,000.
The Parade starts at 8.30pm. The parade route stretches along King William Street starting at North Terrace and finishing at Victoria Square.
The Parade is for you. It is about welcoming you to the Fringe, celebrating the fantastic Fringe artists and showcasing your acts. We welcome you to hand out flyers to the 30,000 in the audience, which will be sitting on both sides of the parade route.
We want to get the city of Adelaide excited about art! We want to encourage audiences to take a risk with their show choices. So get your celebration pants on, get your dance moves down, your tricks terrific and fill the streets with extravagant explosions of artful energy. The parade is the very first event of the Fringe and we all know the perfect entrance is important SO help us create the most energising and engaging procession Adelaide has yet to see.
