In an extraordinary boost to Adelaide Fringe 2024, the recipients of the Novatech Arts Innovation Fund grants have unveiled transformative experiences across a spectrum of venues, thanks to the significant support from Novatech. We sat down for a chat with Chris Mitchell, Director of ‘The Marvellous Elephant Man the Musical’ which won the Critics Circle Award at Adelaide Fringe 2023. With the production currently nominated for three Green Room Awards just 12 months after taking out this coveted award, we thought it was the perfect time to get an update on where things are at for the creatives behind ‘The Marvellous Elephant Man the Musical’.

Adelaide Fringe, Australia’s biggest arts festival, has once again surpassed expectations, breaking previous records with a staggering 1,040,305 tickets sold in its 2024 iteration. The festival attracted over 4.6 million attendances, signaling a monumental success for the state of South Australia and its ‘destination’ arts scene.

47 shows have been recognised in this year’s Adelaide Fringe Awards, celebrating the exceptional talent and creativity that defines Adelaide Fringe.

Following weeks of anticipation and outstanding performances across South Australia, the festival's final awards were celebrated in a grand ceremony on Sunday 17 March at the Dom Polski Centre.
