Carnevale is an annual event presented by the Co-ordinating Italian Committee (CIC). As well as this major festival, other events are presented during the year and all proceeds go towards funding CIC's programs which assist the elderly in our community. The next festival happens on Sat and Sun 04-05 November 2017 with other events scheduled to occur before and after the big weekend. A celebration of Italian culture in an extended festival! 2016 saw the 40th anniversary of Italian Festivals in SA, the first having been mounted in Rundle Mall in 1976. Carnevale is a showcase of Italian culture with food, fashion, vehicle displays (Alfa Romeo, Ducati, Ferrari, Fiat 500, Scuderia Italia), sport (bocce, fencing and soccer), school participation, songs, entertainment, artisans, seminars, master classes, workshops, exhibitions, film, folkloric dances and other activities. The Carnevale Variety Show continues the tradition of presenting events with an Italian flavour.
