Supernova plays CHICAGO
Starting as 'The Big Thing', then 'Chicago Transit Authority', the band which ended up as 'CHICAGO' was formed in 1967, and is one of the longest-running and most successful rock groups of all time. During the 1970's it was the leading singles charting group in the US; they have had five number-one albums on the Billboard 200, and 19 top ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Songs on their first album included 'Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is' and 'Beginnings'. SUPERNOVA will trace their musical progress over the decades, highlighting their best loved songs through the vocal talents of Mat Noble, Jacqui Yeo and Callum Campbell.
Presented by: SUPERNOVA
Since its first gig in 2000, SUPERNOVA has built up an enviable reputation as a musicians’ band, performing outstanding tributes to some of the world’s most successful horn-influenced bands – and no wonder. SUPERNOVA answers the question about what professional musicians and music teachers do when they’re not working: they perform for the love of the music. From Steely Dan’s tasteful and intelligent jazz-rock, Toto and Chicago’s evocative classic songs, to Earth Wind & Fire, TOP, and Stevie Wonder, SUPERNOVA goes where other bands fear to tread. These gigs are an outstanding homage to musical genius ('...truly the best I have seen in a long time'; '...your Steely Dan gig was brilliant'; '..sublime..' Much more than a tribute band, SUPERNOVA has evolved into a memorable musical experience.
