Natural Wonders is your enchanted oasis away from the heavy hustle and bustle of The Fringe Festival.

When we are venturing into The Garden of Unearthly Delights and Gluttony – we’re often contending with bright lights, loud music, shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, and the often welcomed sensory overload that is, of course, the Adelaide Fringe Festival!

If, however, you’re somewhat like myself and occasionally prefer the more quiet and serene (yet still wishing to take part in the Fringe festivities) Natural Wonders is just your ticket!

if you’re familiar with Light Cycles which is a part of the Illuminate Adelaide festival now happening every winter here in July – then you will be no stranger to the delights of Natural Wonders. What separates these two events apart, however, is that Natural Wonders has a story to tell. Our story. An indigenous Story.

It feels like you are roaming the plains of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens listening to all of its secrets. The whispers of the trees under an illuminated night-sky.

What made this even even more awe inspiring was some of the staff/ technicians that took time out to talk with us. They were kind enough to run through how some of these eye-catching spectacles operated. As you walk past one of the illuminated buildings – you might just noticed ants 🐜 crawling from floor to ceiling! Before jumping in fright – rest assured these are all done under a very smart illusion

Natural Wonders is the perfect date night out! There is something truly romantic about a slow-paced walk through The Botanic Gardens with a little Fringe Festival magic sprinkled through.

I would highly recommend Natural Wonders to anyone, couple, family, friends or foe as it’s not very often you get to enjoy this secret garden that you may never get to see otherwise. Jump while Fringe 2024 showcases such a natural delight.
